แนวความคิด

The Concept of Art

Completed over the past 3 years, his impressionist style collection focuses on everyday lives in Thailand, both rural and urban.

The depictions of country life were created during Medina’s travels in the rice farming province of Sakhon Nakhon. There he captures the “back breaking working life of Thailand’s poorest yet, most content of people (who exist amidst) hardship and adversity”.

“The city life is another side which shows the industrious nature of Thai people surviving in difficult conditions” says Medina. “The city of smiles would make others in the West cry. Yet amidst this struggle, people still demonstrate their unbreakable human spirit with wonderful smiles.”

Medina’s artwork spans more than 25 years and has been inspired by his passion for uncovering and expressing life’s wonders and mysteries.

แนวความคิด

            การจดบันทึกชีวิตประจำวัน ในเวลาที่ได้แยกย้ายกันออกไปใช้ชีวิตเป็นเวลากว่าปีครึ่งหลังจบการศึกษา จากภาควิชาทัศนศิลป์ คณะศิลปกรรมศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย นับเป็นเสมือนการนัดพบ พูดคุยถึงเรื่องราวที่ผ่านเข้ามา ตามมุมมองของแต่ละคน โดยผ่านสื่อทางทัศนะต่างๆ ได้แก่ งานจิตรกรรม ประติมากรรม ภาพถ่าย และสื่อผสม

มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อเผยแพร่ผลงานศิลปะของกลุ่มศิลปินออกสู่สาธารณะ และนำเสนอเรื่องราวใกล้ตัว ในแนวทางที่เข้าใจง่าย สามารถเข้าถึงผู้ชมได้ และเป็นการบอกเล่าความสัมพันธ์ และเป็นไปของศิษย์เก่า ที่ได้ใช้เวลาร่วมเติบโตมาด้วยกัน

                Over a year and a half, Many stories in our daily lives have been written down into our journals of real life. It has been a while since we have spent the most colorful time together in the Visual arts department, faculty of Fine and applied arts, Chulalongkorn university.

                "The meeting place" exhibition will be the place for us to be reunited, meeting our beloved friends, sharing experiences from different paths that we have taken in our new journeys. Our stories will be told in forms of visual arts, including, paintings, sculptures, photographs, and mixed-media.

                This exhibition is a chance for our artist group to display our works to the public, as well as an opportunity for us to express the bond that we have built for over 4 years, in which we have spent and grown together in the university life.
